Tips to Incorporate Flashcards Into Your ARE Study Process

Supplement Your Studies

Our digital flashcards help you to practice recall for key terms and vocabulary. We have over 1,400 flashcards, ranging between 95 and 350 per division.

When you see a key term in the lecture videos or lecture slides, it’s a sign that you’ll be able to review and study it later with a flashcard. Every key term has a matching flashcard to help you lock in important concepts as you go.

Pairing flashcards with the lecture videos will help to solidify the information you are learning in real time. As you take notes on topics presented, review the flashcards with related terminology. With the Guided Study Process, we’ve integrated flashcards into the study plan so that you’ll know exactly which flashcards relate to which videos.

Test Your Knowledge Quickly

Don’t have 3-5 hours to dedicate to a full-length practice exam?

Looking for a way to pass time during your commute to or from work?

Trying to squeeze in some studying during breaks at work without cramming in new information?

Flashcards are a great way to stay fresh on key terms and test your knowledge in a short amount of time. You can access your digital flashcards from your computer or mobile device, so you can even do some studying on-the-go.

Create Your Own Flashcards

You can also create your own flashcards to be added into your rotation, which is a great way to solidify your understanding of topics.

Using a Self-Explanation Strategy, where you are explaining concepts in your own words, forces you to process the information deeply. You can do this by summarizing key points from videos and quizzes aloud, or by creating your own flashcards to test yourself with.

If you want to take it a step further, you can create your own practice questions using the custom flashcards feature. Getting into the mind of those who create the ARE questions is a great way to take your test strategy to the next level. It will help you understand how to dissect complex questions and get to the root of what questions are asking.

Keep Track of Your Progress

Each flashcard has a small star for you to click to mark the card as mastered, which means you fully understand the concept or term laid out on that card. It is then removed from your rotation of unmastered flashcards, which will give you a sense of accomplishment and make your collection more efficient to review.

If you are struggling with a concept or term, or just want to brush up on the topic, you can reference the noted objective that it aligns with, then revisit the relevant lecture videos for further explanations. Additionally, any key terms called out in the lecture videos have an associated flashcard already in our system.

Though you can use the flashcards on their own, they work best when used in tandem with our suite of study materials. Use the digital flashcards as a piece of your study strategy to help you keep key terms, formulas, and ideas on hand, so you can quickly recall them as you go through your exam.
